“You must maximise the opportunities that have arisen through the indigenisation and empowerment initiative. You should claim your resources. They belong to Zimbabwe and you are the Zimbabweans,” he said.
“We have mineral wealth and I urge you to position yourself in areas where there are minerals. Be the custodians of such mineral wealth.”
Kasukuwere said government would always support youths taking part in the indigenisation programme.
“We are not going back at all. We are serious about the indigenisation programme so don’t be left out. Go and claim those resources,” said Kasukuwere, adding that he would make sure the Trust was given gold claims in the Penhalonga area.
The indigenisation programme has seen major mining companies such as platinum giant ,Mimosa Mining Company, Zimplats Holdings and cement maker Portland Holdings Limited coming up with empowerment initiatives under which they have donated shares to local communities and workers.
