Kabata Hot Springs, one of the major tourist attractions in Binga, has been under-marketed for a long time. Binga RDC Chief Executive Officer, Joshua Muzamba, told The Zimbabwean that the local authority was looking for partners to professionally run the hot springs which are situated in Chief Sabo’s area, about 90km from Binga centre.
“We want to make sure that by the time Zimbabwe hosts the UNWTO conference in August this year, Kabata Hot Springs will be a perfect site for the tourists. This place has a lot of potential to generate money for the council,” said Muzamba. Muzamba revealed that plans were under way for the Council to apply for town status amid revelations that a physical planning team was on the ground.
“People from physical planning are working on updating the local plan for the town. It is important since it will give us various economic development points and possible routes of expansion as we prepare for the growth of the town.”
