The renowned comedian said the move was in line with his goal of aiding the growth of street theatre in the country.

“Street theater is a sector that carries so much potential. That is why I have decided to pursue this project. There are a lot of talented youths out there who need assistance for them to grow,” said Kapfupi.

Kapfupi rose to stardom in 1998 when he formed True Vision Drama Group and went on to fascinate fans in Harare’s First Street with his street theatre.

After years of entertaining people on the streets, the talented actor and musician made his debut appearance on national television in 2002 and since then he has never looked back.

He later ventured into music and released his debut album entitled Uchakanga Waya in 2006. To date the actor-cum musician has six albums to his name.

Although he would not shed much detail on his impending project, Kapfupi said plans for the setting up of the production company were at an advanced stage.

“Right now I cannot give much detail as the project is still in its initial stages but there are some experts who we are working closely with. By end of this year the project will be completed,” said Kapfupi.

He said the setting up of the company was one of his resolutions for 2013.
