Manhunt for murderer

Police here have launched a manhunt for a 20-year-old man who murdered his grandmother over a domestic dispute.

Eye witnesses said on December 9 at around 1800hrs, Knowledge Munsaka was at a family homestead in Maronga village under Chief Chireya, Gokwe North.

“During that time, his granny (Gonese Kaukwe) was shelling groundnuts while seated with other family members,” said Trity Gotora. “Munsaka grabbed a handful of the shelled nuts which incensed the old woman. She shouted insults at him and in a feat of rage, Munsaka picked a machete and hit her on the forehead,” said another eye witness, Primrose Nyoni.

Nyoni added that the granny fell down and started bleeding profusely. She then later died on her way to the hospital.

Provincial police spokesperson, Leornard Chabata, said the force was appealing to members of the public for information on the whereabouts of Munsaka.
