
“We extended an olive branch to them but they did not heed our calls. They showed their stubbornness and should not try to use other avenues to negotiate with us because they no longer have a place in our football,” said Zifa Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze.
Fifteen players and officials paid the appeals fees last year and Mashingaidze revealed that they were now only waiting for their cases to be heard so they could be cleared.
“We cannot stand in the way of those who have paid. An independent committee will determine when they will get back to business but I hope that will be before the end of this month.”
Zifa raised close to $35,000 from fines but 13 remained banned for life, seven suspended for 10 years, while 37 players and officials received five-year bans from all football activities.
