Harare giants CAPS United, who have reportedly signed prolific striker Dominic Chungwa from Hippo Valley, are also understood to be after the signatures of promising Zimbabwe youth internationals Kuda Mahachi and Nqobizitha Masuku. Both are on the books of Bantu Rovers although Mahachi was on loan at Bulawayo based top-flight outfit Chicken Inn last season.
Mutare side Buffaloes are chasing former Lancashire Steel forward, Jacob Muzokomba, who has been turning out for Hardbody. A source at the relegated Gweru outfit disclosed that Buffaloes had already made their intentions known and a deal was likely to be concluded soon.
The army side are also said to have also wanted to sign midfielder Brian Juru but the Hardbody captain has already made up his mind to join Shabanie Mine. Hardbody’s 20-year-old goalkeeper Ashley Rayners, arguably the team’s most outstanding player last season, is believed to be heading to Harare with either Black Mambas or Harare City his likely destination.
Zvishavane-based FC Platinum, who has been hyper-active on the market for the last two seasons, have been conspicuously quiet this time around with Quelaton forward, Mhleli Sibanda, their only reported target.
Champions Dynamos have been particularly busy in preparation of what looks to be a testing CAF Champions League campaign, having already registered new players in the likes of Russell Madamombe, Sydney Linyama, Steven Alimenda, Morris Kadzola, Fransesco Zikumbawire and highly rated Zambian centre-half Aaron Katebe. The Harare giants are reported to be facing problems tying down some of the players, due to their precarious financial position.
Highlanders for their part have been quiet, with reports of confusion over the status of some members of the technical team. However, some members of the Bosso technical team are understood to have recommended the acquisition of Buffaloes star forward Roy Mwenga and Hardbody’s exciting winger, Richard Jongwe.
