He sings with 11-year-old Rob Scanlon and three other colleagues. They are now featured regularly on a Dublin radio stations, and have also appeared on a prominent Irish television show ‘The Lata Late Show’. They also continue to enjoy constant downloads on social networks like Facebook and YouTube where they have received more than 200,000 downloads.
“We hope to go to America where there is really scope for music development. I write songs every week, and will focus more when I complete my studies,” said Dodo, who doubles as a guitarist for the teenage band.
He explained how it all began: “We were just playing around imitating Rihanna’s song and we uploaded it to YouTube and since then the world has been following us and asking for more.”
Magdalene Mukandatsama-Dodo said her son had always dreamt big. “We are a musical family – my niece, Prudence Katomeni Mbofana, is a Jazz singer back home. My son wanted to go into football but loved music. It’s good to see him on the way,” she said. His father Tongai says the sky is the limit for his son.
