Amazulu have terminated the contract of Zimbabwean former youth international, Mkhokheli Dube, just six months after he signed a three-year deal with the ABSA Premiership club. Club spokesperson, Brilliant Mkhathini, said both parties agreed to the contract termination.

“Dube was released last week after both parties agreed on amicable grounds. He was handed his clearance after the coach, Craig Rosslee, informed him that he was not part of his plans for the remainder of the season,” said Mkhathini.

The 29-year-old striker, who starred for Highlanders and also played for the Zimbabwe national Under-20 side before he left for the United States in 2005, refused to comment on the development.

“Who gave you that information? I can’t talk about that right now,” said the former New England Revolution player.
