Ex-convict launches music career

Former-inmate-cum-musician Elton Bushe has embarked on a solo musical path and is set to release his debut album. Now employed by Mutare’s transport mogul, Esau Mupfumi, hogged the limelight after featuring alongside award-winning gospel star Blessing Shumba on “Munamato Wangu” when he was still an inmate at Mutare Remand Prison.

Bushe paid tribute to Shumba whom he said he learnt a lot from during the recording of “Munamato Wangu.”

The former Mansa lead vocalist appealed for sponsorship as he is currently facing financial challenges to record and release the album. When he was released from prison, he was assisted by Shumba with accommodation and occupation. Shumba also persuaded Mupfumi to give Bushe a job.
