From the terraces

AFCON

Congratulations to Nigeria’s Super Eagles for lifting the Afcon. It was well deserved. They played like champions from the beginning. – Eugene Dube, Mpumalanga.

I was rallying behind Burkina Faso in the finals, but they didn’t make it to the podium for the big one. Tough luck to them. They were actually lucky to only lose 1-0 as their opponents missed too any chances. – Ian Chimbambaira, Avondale.

What we saw in Ghana at the just-ended Afcon were the last kicks of a dying horse. I did not follow the whole tournament, but I really wondered how they managed to get to the semi-finals. -Tawanda Parerwa, Seke.

I loved the displays during the closing ceremony of the continent’s biggest football tournament on Sunday, especially that big picture of Africa. I however, did not like them personalizing the tournament when they wrote ‘I love South Africa’. It was not about just about South Africa at that time, but the whole of Africa. -Ranga kuFio, Highfield.

Dynamos

I would like to wish the Glamour Boys well in the African Safari and in the upcoming Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. Let’s go out there and show them what we have. I have supported this club since childhood and they have never disappointed me. -Wellington Tatenda, Tynwald.

I have no doubt that Rodrick Mutuma will impress at his new South African club. He will be greatly missed. -Denis T, Mutare.

Caps United

I appeal to Farai Jere and Twine Phiri to stop seeking fast victories. We need to build our team from the youth going up. That way, we can be assured of some years of local league domination. Signing players from other teams will be a thing of the past as we will just be graduating players from our juniors. -Henry Mapuranga, Glen Norah.

Gwekwerere is a football prostitute. He does not know what he wants. How can he change clubs just like that? What is shocking is his lack of conscience on crossing fields between rival clubs. -Shadreck S, Norton.

Highlanders

Woza Bosso! Let’s be blazing hot like fire this season and take the league crown to Bulawayo. Nothing will stop us this time and we will win every trophy there is on offer. -Lungile, Bulawayo.
