Playing against Sundowns made me realise how much we will miss “King” Denver Mukamba. The boy is simply a real soccer star. -Eugene S, Tafara.
Mr Pasuwa, I know you will never run out of ideas. The departure of Mukamba and Mutuma can only be a blow to a coach who does not know how to plan, but we know you will find good replacements. – Emmanuel Gore, Glen Norah.
AFCON
I had predicted that Ivory Coast would reach the finals, but I guess they disappointed not only me but their fans as well. Zambia’s exit also made the whole tournament less interesting. It was going to be great seeing them in the finals again. -Tatenda Mareva, Chitungwiza.
I was impressed by the number of supporters Ethiopia had during their AFCON games. One would think the tournament was being staged in their country. We could do with patriotism half that kind in Zimbabwe, where our football fan base is full of more critics than supporters. Zifa need to do a lot to make people believe more in local football. Asiagate robbed the game of some loyal fans and betrayed others and it should now be Zifa’s job to see that a good image of the game is restored. – James Mandinyanya, Avondale.
Sorry Bafana Bafana on being booted out of the tournament. Now your fans have to support other countries in their own country. How unfair football is! – Ronald Tsambatsi, Beightbridge.
Caps United
Last week’s game against Sundowns at Gwanzura last week was a good eye-opener for the coming season. Haters were in stitches that we lost by a heavy margin, but that was a big blessing to us. I now urge the coaches to start correcting the mistakes and get us prepared for the coming season. – Ian Rambanesu, Bloomingdale.
What an embarrassing defeat for Caps United at the hands of South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns. – Denford Phiri, Kwekwe.
