The accused, Qubekani Ndlovu (32), unsuccessfully pleaded for innocence on all the charges when he stood before magistrate, Taurai Manuwere.
Prosecutor Vimbai Chinoda told the court that since 2011, Ndlovu had been breaking into houses in the densely populated Mbizo suburb. The value of the stolen property is estimated at $10 000. Nothing was recovered.
In his defence, Ndlovu said he never committed the crimes. However, Magistrate Manuwere said evidence linking him to the cases was overwhelming. The magistrate then slapped Ndlovu with a 12-year imprisonment term.
