Produced by Mxolis Ncube, the album has already sold more than 5,000 copies – a rare achievement among upcoming groups. The group’s co-leader, Caroline Ncube, was a happy woman this week.
“I am humbled by the success,” she told The Zimbabwean. “We only have been in the industry for two years and this is our second album. We are constantly receiving calls and messages on our social network pages from fans across the world asking for more. As a group we cannot express our gratitude,” she said, adding that they would soon do a tour of SADC countries.
Patrick Sibanda of Living-way Promotions said he was shocked at the high sales attained by Izwi Lesiphelo within a short period.
“I have promoted and sold music for the past decade but I have never witnessed a new group selling like that,” said Sibanda.
