Jazz maestro urges respect for road rules

Award-winning Jazz maestro Jeys Marabini has called on the country’s drivers to practice respect on roads.

This follows his recent appointment as Road Safety Ambassador for the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, alongside fellow musician Sandra Ndebele and celebrated sporting icons Rahman Gumbo and Peter Ndlovu.

Two months ago, Ndlovu tragically lost his brother Adam in a horrific car accident alongside model Nomqhele Tshili when his BMW X5, driven by Peter, veered off the road and uprooted several trees near the Victoria Falls Airport along the Bulawayo road.

“Our drivers must start upholding respect on the roads. Speeding on the roads and use of cell-phones while driving is a good symptom of disrespect and the majority of our drivers practice it each and every minute. We must be exemplary to our children; we need to save lives. Soon we will start issuing flyers, pamphlets and use billboards in communicating and teaching respect among our drivers,” said Marabini, who is already writing a song to encourage this.
