Jimlee stokes house music flames

A local musician has stoked flames of enthusiasm among house music fanatics with the release of a scorcher album. The trend in house music has been digital production

“I was inspired by my young sister aged 11, who combined with popular producer Mad Nettol to release a successful single titled Bonza,” said Jimlee (25).

The artist’s new album labelled SweetLove was recorded at More Sounds studios in Gweru. Since its release, the tracks Musvobho, Mabasa, Nhamo and Rudo have become popular.

House music, which originated with artists in South Africa, is slowly encroaching on local vibes like Sungura, which boasts household names like Alick “Extra Basso” Macheso; Sulumani Chimbetu; Peter Moyo and Nicholas Madzibaba. “I am praying to become the King of House Music the country over and with hard work, I know that my dream is not impossible,” said Jimlee.

Employed by Anchor Yeast as a machine operator, the artist has plans to embark on nationwide shows following requests by several music promoters.
