Maraire impressed

World Wide Scholarships Academy director, Munya Maraire, was impressed by the turnout at a weekend practice session at the University of Zimbabwe.

“There was a huge turnout by participants, but I was mostly impressed by the number of youngsters who showed their passion for athletics,” said Maraire. The purpose of the two-day event was to identify and nurture young talent with the assistance of some of the most accomplished athletes in the country and the Southern African region.

“The youngsters managed to get some hints on how to achieve success through modern training methods which, I am sure will go a long way in improving their carriers,” he added.

The two-day event brought together athletes aged 10 and upwards, who were exposed to some not normally run events like the 60 metres dash and the 500m dash, making it the first of its kind here.
