
The rallies are expected to be attended by thousands of party supporters and will be addressed by the party leadership on Saturday and Sunday.
MDC-T Vice President, Thokhozani Khupe, will lead a party delegation to Matabeleland North for a rally at Dhlamini Business Centre in Tsholotsho on Sunday.
Party National Chairperson Lovemore Moyo will be in Zvishavane town while his deputy Morgan Komichi will be spreading the “Yes” gospel in Manicaland.
Secretary General Tendai Biti will be at Chinhoyi Stadium in Mashonaland West on Saturday while Tapiwa Mashakada will address the Wedza rally at Sadza Growth Point in Chivhu.
Elton Mangoma will launch the campaign in Bindura for the Mashonaland Central province on Sunday while party National Organiser, Nelson Chamisa, will be at Chitungwiza Tennis Court in Unit J. His deputy Abednico Bhebhe will address a rally at Dingimuzi Stadium in Plumtree, Matabeleland South.
Douglas Mwonzora will be in Masvingo province at Nyamakwe Business Centre in Chivi while Theresa Makone will address a rally at Nemangwe Business Centre in Gokwe. Lucia Matibenga who is the party Secretary for Welfare will be at the Bulawayo City Hall Open Space while Solomon Madzore will be at Tichagarika Shops in Glen View for the Harare launch.
MDC is upbeat about the draft constitution which it has described as one of its major successes since its formation in 1999 and in the Government of National Unity that was established in 2009.
Preparations for the Chitungwiza rally were marred by the attack on MDC-T youth members who were putting up campaign posters in Unit L by suspected rowdy Zanu (PF) youths.
Those attacked are Christopher Mubhoyi, Wilbert Ndiweni, Angeline Taruvinga, Essay Ancisa, Clara Magozore, Rufaro Manhembe, Gertrude Chidavaenzi, Kudakwashe Simbi, Loveness Chimombe and Tsinga Matengambiri.
The attackers were identified as Eman Dzuku (Zanu (PF) youth chairperson), Clifford Chakwesha and Tafadzwa Chitsa, a youth co-odinator.
Zanu (PF) is also gunning for a “Yes” vote.
