The Ministry of Labour and Social Services Permanent Secretary, Lance Museka, said 70 Rwandan families were being repatriated.
“Only those who came here during the genocide era from 1994 to 1998 are going back home,” he said.
Museka said they were at an advanced stage in the establishment of a committee to interview the refugees to find out whether they are prepared to go back home.
Museka said the government in liaison with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees would assess the situation on the ground to make sure it is safe to repatriate refugees.
