
The riot police left the spillage after dispersing rowdy soccer fans during the Highlanders/Dynamos match, which was played at Barbour fields stadium.
The concentrate has affected tenants in the surrounding area and pupils from the nearby Mckeurtain primary school.
“I have engaged the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights to assist me in suing the police for experiencing breathing problems after inhaling the gas. My flea market is located close to the area and for the past two weeks, I could not operate at the market because of the gas,” said Moyo.
Moyo said she spent close to $100 in medication following the incident
Most residents who spoke to the Zimbabwean complained about breathing difficulties, running noses, dizziness, and skin irritation following the spillage.
Last week the Environmental Management Agency ordered the police to clear the spillage after the fire brigade failed to neutralize it.
