“We are in the final phase of the struggle and you need to challenge five people from your family back home to register to vote. Life in a foreign land is unbearable, so all relatives should be registered to vote,” said Bennett.
Bennett said the people’s will was the only thing to get President Robert Mugabe out of office.
“Zanu (PF) is scared of the people’s will. Please never back-off, no matter how hard you are victimised or intimidated, only your secret vote will do you justice,” he said.
Mashonaland West Provincial Secretary Greenwich Ndanga was also at the launch. He urged Zimbabweans to shun violence.
“Mugabe and his Zanu (PF) are deliberately perpetrating violence to disturb the entire process of the referendum. Don’t fall prey to their strategy but be clear on the referendum and vote yes,” said Ndanga. “We want you to peacefully mobilise all your relatives to register to vote and together we will achieve total democracy.”
Also present at the event were community and church leaders.
