He won a very interesting game against Tapiwa Gora with his deadly Sicilian Defence before defeating Prosper Masundire in another exicting duel which had a blitz ending.The team was tied with St.Ignatius but they were separated on bucholtz. They also won 4 games and drew against the winners in the final round.
St.Alberts gave a good account of themselves when they came third with 4 points.They were tied on third position with Allan Wilson A, and Churchill A. Closely behind the pack was Mabvuku High a team which was led by Jeremiah Jekera who was on board one.
A total of 31 teams took part in the boys division,while 12 teams took part in the girls division. In the girls division St. Alberts won the division with 5 points winning all their games. They defeated Goromonzi High school in the final round. Derby Ndaradzi of Goromonzi won the best player's prize in the girls division after finishing with a perfect score.
In second place was St. Johns Chikwaka who had 4 points while Goromonzi also scooped another team prize in the girls division cementing their grooming of the girl child in the game. The tournament was run by Elton Mhangarai of the Zimbabwe Chess Federation.

Glad to hear chess is alive and well in Goromonzi. I arranged a grant to have the large scale board and pieces outside the Beit hall in 1996 during my 2 happy years teaching physics there. Greetings from Ireland on St. Patrick’s day.
