The defensive midfielder, who is enjoying his game at glamour club, Kaizer Chiefs, pacesetters in the 16-team log, expressed confidence that the club would win their first league in a decade and also break their Nedbank Cup duck, having qualified for the quarter-finals of SA’s premier cup competition.
Chiefs are in a difficult tie as they head-off next to Bloemfontein Celtic in the Nedbank Cup, but “Salt and Vinegar” said a win was highly possible for the Amakhosi, who are riding a wave.
This will be one of two meetings in as many weeks between the two sides. They will play the Nedbank Cup on the weekend of April 12-14 and meet again in a league match on March 31.
Katsande admitted it would be difficult to win both ties, but remained confident.
“We will assess them in the first match, where we will be hoping to win all three points, before on the Nedbank Cup match, which will be equally important. Both games will be tough, but we are looking forward to the game. We want to win every match we play,” said the Zimbabwean.
The Warriors star said winning a rare double for the Naturena giants was not an impossibility, adding that Chiefs had set that as their target.
“We don’t want to put ourselves under pressure and we will be taking it one game at a time and see how far we can go. We really need this Cup and are going there to fight to progress to the next round.”
