
“Special thanks to all those fans or rather friends of Mberikwazvo in Joburg who came in their numbers to support us. What a night and what a show,” Macheso told The Zimbabwean.
Chiedza Chizororo of CC promotions who presided over the event also expressed happiness at the behaviour of revellers.
“We didn’t even experience a single violent incident. We hope Rhumba supporters will uphold this behaviour for future events,” she said.
Last year, South African police warned Zimbabweans to behave themselves after they stoned the doors trying to gain free access when Macheso started performing. The show came to a standstill for about 30 minutes before Macheso could continue as about three people were seriously injured.
