Tendai, son to Zex Manatsa, and Selmor, the daughter of superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, have been performing together since 2005. They have two albums together, “Ndinewe – I am with You” and “Tendai and Selmor Live.” Prior to this they had each recorded one solo album, “Kudzoka kwababa” and “Shungu,” respectively.
Selmor released another solo album last month, after parting ways musically with her husband.Though Tendai said they decided to try solo projects to allow both of them to reach their full potential, the promising musician is already missing working with his wife.
“My wife took off for Zimbabwe tonight (last Wednesday) and left me all alone in South Africa. I miss her already,” said Tendai, who was heading off to Mauritius the following day.
The celebrity couple first “parted ways” on Valentines’ Day when Selmor went to SA on business while Tendai was in Zanzibar for the Saudi zaBusara Festival.
