“We will be holding a show in the “City of Progress” in March,” said his manager Paul Manyere. “We have decided to hold our first show in Gweru since Mhere grew up in the city and cut his musical teeth there. It’s a way of honouring the city for nurturing his talent,” he said. Mhere first tapped into the music industry as a vocalist for a Mkoba-based group called Rock of Ages. He moved to Harare in 2007. The following year he engaged producer Clive Mono Mukundu for his debut album “Tinoda Nyasha”. which was a huge flop.
He finally made a breakthrough when he released his controversial album “Anoita Minana”, which was mistaken as Blessing Shumba’s due to the striking similarities in style and presentation.
