AD: What is your current role in the province, and what motivates you?
GN: l look after the provincial secretariat, basically monitoring all administrative related issues in the province. I love my country and l like my profession. I strive to unite all political parties and have one mission for the development of our province. This requires a cordial relationship with other members of the party as well as members of all other political parties. The party l serve is accommodative to everyone. We are tolerant of diverse opinions and determined to rule without violence. Our top priority is to have free and fair elections, allowing people to vote for their leaders of choice without any hindrances.
AD: What have you achieved in your province as the aspiring MP and chief political administrator?
GN: I’m a visionary and development focused person. Without any Constituency Development Funds l have managed to revive water reticulation at Mount Hamden clinic in Zvimba East, which has been closed since 2000. We also connected clean borehole water to a nearby community farming compound to avert cholera. About 700 families are benefiting to date.
We also connected fresh drinking water for the Kintyre village, where about 500 are now benefiting. We have helped the Mount Hamden clinic maternity unit. Due to the lack of water pregnant women were forced to travel to Harare to give safe birth. They no longer have to do that. Most importantly we helped Nyabhira people to fulfil their vision to secure three transformers during those days of power outages and over 1,500 families including Nyabhira clinic, the suburb, school and national railway houses benefited from the reconnection of the electricity that was facilitated in 2009.
AD: How have you motivated your people in Zvimba East?
GN: MDC-T has motivated people to take up the upheaval challenge to change their lives and to lead their destiny by embarking on a journey of change and we have brought democracy to our people.
