In Birchnough bridge, Ward 33 at District Development Fund Polling station, there was high turn out of the elderly voters.Turn out was very low in Nyanga, Ward 21 Tangwena polling station with majority of the voters being the elderly.
Ballot papers ran out in some polling stations.Stationery shortages by midday were recorded in Bulawayo and the affected polling stations were Magwewe High School, Dhlamini Primary School,Queen Elizabeth, Tshabalala Hall and Nketa High School. At Inkomo barracks in Harare ballot papers were recorded finished by 2pm.
The number of people turned away increased as the election progressed. By 2pm in Masvingo province 4 764 people had been turned away. Huge numbers were also recorded in many provinces. In Muzarabani Ward 17 Hoya polling station voting had ended by 12 noon as most the voters were turned away because they are holders of alien identity cards.
The MDC-T secretary general confirmed at press conference held in Harare that Samson Magumura, MDC-T District Secretary for Headlands was abducted by suspected ZANU PF activists and his whereabouts is still unknown.
