Produced by Budiriro Theatre Group, the show features Peter “Young Igwee” Moyo, Jah Prayzah and Sulumani Chimbetu of the “Sean Timba” fame. The “Gochi Gochi” hitmaker who features in the first episode also joins Young Igwee and Sulu in the second episode – raising the tempo of the drama.
In the second episode Sulu, who plays himself, is seen charming his two-timing girlfriend Maria. All hell broke loose when Sulu discovers that he was being double crossed with Sekuru Zvambu. He fires an offensive at the two before being restrained by his friend Jah Prayzah.
“Bag Rabvaruka” centres on the controversial character of the self-proclaimed king of the theatre Mabla 10. The drama highlights various social ills such as inter-generational relationships, sexual abuse, female rapists, sodomy and abuse of law.
The drama flights advertisements during various segments, a clever idea by the artists to raise revenue to fund their work. Advertisers include night clubs, elementary schools, butcheries and driving schools, with the drama actors playing characters in most of the ads. Soundtracks from popular musicians such as Jah Prayzah, Sulu, Young Igwee, Winky D, Decibel, King Shaddy and others are given prominence.
