The suspicious caller told Majoni that he wanted him and the reporter to meet him at the Jameson Hotel as he had information to add to the story.
Majoni requested details over the phone, but the caller, who identified himself only as Moyo, insisted that they should meet personally. I ignored his invitation, suspecting he could be up to something fishy.
About 30 minutes later, he called on our Advertising Executive's phone, which he must have got it from the newspaper. He asked for the reporter's number, but she declined to give it. During their conversation, he said he was looking for our offices and wanted the exact directions to the office so that he could "submit an article".
He is still trying to call her and Majoni is also receiving private calls on my mobile. The office has been evacuated and Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights have been alerted.
