The MDC-T leader, who received a rousing welcome from his party supporters, was accompanied by his wife Elizabeth Macheka and senior party officials.

“We have just exercised one of the most important steps since the constitution process was launched. The coming in of a new constitution will bring a new political dispensation which we hope will help to address the culture of impunity,” he said.

Low voter turnout characterized most polling stations in the dormitory suburb. But at Chaminuka Primary the situation was different after residents received news that the Prime Minister would be voting there.

Hordes of people could be seen milling outside waiting for his arrival.
