Australian mining company finds metal deposits

The Australian mining company Metals of Africa has announced that it has found deposits of lead, zinc, silver and copper at its Rio Mazoe base metals project in the western Mozambican province of Tete.

The discovery came through the drilling of fourteen holes at the site, with 110 core samples being sent to laboratories in Australia for analysis.

According to a statement by the company, “the Rio Mazoe Project remains highly prospective for a Broken Hill type lead-zinc-silver target based on a combination of high grade lead, zinc and silver surface mineralisation combined with ‘the right’ age and metamorphic grade geology”.

However, the company warns that additional geophysical techniques are required, which it will begin in late May after the end of the rainy season.
