Bulawayo city council director of Housing and Community Services, Isaiah Magagula, said the council was concerned about the state of the buildings.
“Some buildings in the city’s central business district are dilapidated and in urgent need of renovations. The council has resolved to demolish all buildings which are deemed to be unsafe to the public and the owners of such buildings will be charged,” said Magagula.
Magagula said most privately owned buildings in the city were vacant due to negligence by the property owners.
