Macheso falls in love with Mutare

Self-proclaimed king of sungura Alick Macheso has fallen in love with the exotic scenery in this eastern border town. Baba Sharo, as he is now affectionately known by his fans, said Mutare was now his “second home” during a side-line interview at Pick ‘n’ Save Supermarket where he performed recently.

Whenever he is called upon to perform in the country’s cleanest city, he jumps to the occasion without second thoughts due to the strong bond he shares with the city.

“Mutare is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. It’s the capital of the mineral rich province, which is also the hub of tourism. I get a welcoming feeling every time we drive along the Christmas Pass. It’s like my second home,” said the gifted musician.
