On April 13, she will be launching her autobiography in London. The book is entitled: “Never Again: Not to any woman or girl again”.

“The Guest Speaker, Her Royal Highness Princess Deun Adedoyin-Solarin, Veteran Global Broadcaster and Producer/Host of the ‘Princess of Arize!’ Show on BEN TV, Sky Satellite Channel 182, has signalled the need for all to ‘Arize!’ and hold highly every African Woman and Girl,” said Makoni.

“Director of Programmes, Pauline Long, is one of most influential Black Women in Europe and Founder of Black and Ethnic Minority Awards. She has a long list of awards and honours for supporting charity work. Featured speakers are community champions of the Zimbabwean community in UK, who include the founder of ‘Help Us Help Ourselves’, Stephanie Chiyangwa, and the founder of ‘Power of Business Networking’ and Rural Child Education Sponsor, Linda Satimburwa.”

Makoni will tell her story and the stories of the many girls she has helped.

“The situation of girls forced to marry, going under FGM and raped is worrying and the launch of this story will open a Pandora’s box and inspire many in the world,” added the multi-award-winning Zimbabwean activist, who now lives in the United Kingdom.

“Violence against women and girls must stop once and for all. We made a decision to be victorious and not victims. This is our special night to reflect, speak, laugh, cry, fundraise, give, take, dance, hug and forge ahead. We want to instil a new culture of love, peace and harmony in our lives, communities and families.

“I am so delighted that a story like mine, a once poor, sexually abused girl vendor could get so much support from everyone. Lots of women and girls identify with it.”

In the provocative book, published by Trafford Publishing, Makoni shares a new vision of what “must” be done to end violence against women and girls in the home, school, community and beyond. The night will end with a fundraiser for the African Girls Empowerment and Education Fund, where the 160 guests will each be matched to a girl in Africa to support with school fees, sanitary pads, rescue from rape and child marriages, counselling and empowerment.

From their dinner of £35, every £10 will be an automatic donation to a girl whose profile guests will find at the dinner table.
