My time will come: Mukamba

Warriors captain Denver Mukamba has had a slow start to the South African PSL, but said this week he had not lost hope.

Following recent comments by his coach, Clive Barker, that the reigning Zimbabwean soccer star of the year should rise to the occasion at his new club, Bidvest Wits, Mukamba confirmed that his best was yet to come.

He was optimistic that with time he would not only make it into Clever Boys’ starting line-up, but also play a pivotal role for the club that is currently fourth on the 16-team log and assured of a top eight position.

“There is still enough time for me to gel with the team and I am working very hard at training to make it up into the starting line-up,” said the former Dynamos playmaker.

“There is stiff competition for jerseys in the team, but I am glad that the coach has shown his appreciation and keeps encouraging me not to give up. We are currently in top form and the other strikers, Ryan Chapman and Mogakolodi Ngele, are doing well for the team and that is a challenge for me to keep fighting. I understand that the coach can’t just change a winning team for my sake.”
