SA takes ZITF by storm

South Africa is set to be the largest exhibitor at this year’s 54th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair that will see 13 foreign countries participating.

China, was the largest exhibitor in 2012, is second after South Africa in terms of the exhibition space taken up, according to ZITF deputy general manager, Noma Ndlovu. This year’s ZITF will be held from 23 – 27 April under the theme “Building Value, Enhancing Growth’.

The ZITF deputy general manager said South African companies had taken 800 square metres, the largest exhibition space, while China had booked 600 square metres.

Ndlovu said 93 percent of exhibition space had been taken up by foreign and local companies, a month before the trade showcase takes off. “Bookings are progressing well,” Ndlovu said.

The countries that have confirmed participation are China, Ghana, Italy, Indonesia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Pakistan, Russia, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.

Western companies under the European Union banner and those from the US are not featuring at this year’s ZITF.
