Taylor scored a career best of an unbeaten 171 in the first innings of the first test before recording another century in the second innings to power Zimbabwe to a 335 runs victory. He is ready to rise above the pressures of the fans’ expectations to maintain the standard he has set for himself.

“There will always be pressure, but I feel I have prepared enough for it and I will do my best to give the fans a good show,” he said.

The second test tomorrow start on a wet wicket after some rains Harare has experienced since Monday and Taylor realises “it is important to start fielding if we win the toss.”

Bangladesh captain and wicket keeper, Mushfiqur Rahim, realises turning the tables to win the second test is a tough challenge but remains positive that it is not a mission impossible.

“If we think negatively it will be difficult, I have faith in the players and the coaching team. We bowled very well last time, our batting let us down and I believe we can win the second test if we can come back strong,” he said.

Zimbabwe caretaker coach, Steven Mangongo, is treating tomorrow’s test as a “new game with new challenges.” He is not flattered by the previous victory knowing how challenging consistency has been to his boys.

“We will not fool ourselves,” he said. “We know we need to continue working hard. The players really want to play at the highest stage and win there and gain respect. They realise it is important to be counted as a serious cricketing nation and we can only get that by winning games.”
