Zendeza shines in Swaziland

Zimbabwe international, Pride Zendeza, is having a game of his life at Swaziland PSL side, Manzini Sundowns.

Zendeza joined the club at the beginning of last season, capping a brilliant debut season with the club’s Player of the Year award. The club is under the mentorship of Rodwel Dhlakama and Zimbabwean Golding Dube.

This was in addition to winning the Swazi Charity Cup, for which he was also voted the goalkeeper of the tournament.

“The Swazi league is not as bad as I have heard some people say. It might be some miles behind the SA topflight, but I still believe that it is one of the best leagues in the region,” said the young former Railstars goalkeeper, who recently went on a tour of Europe with South African school of excellence – BE Sport, owned by former Kaizer Chiefs striker, Nkosinathi Nhleko.

“It had always been my biggest ambition to play in a different league from the Zimbabwean PSL and when the opportunity came three years ago, I did not hesitate to join Molene Pirates, who gave me the first opportunity to shine and move to a bigger club. I know this will give me a chance to move to an even bigger and better league, but for now, I am very happy here.”
