
“I did everything I could to try and help to save the club from relegation, but we failed as a team and naturally, some changes will happen to the team,” said Amidu. “The club said they would release two foreigners and my future with them remains uncertain, as I am also not interested in going down to the National First Division. I am still young and knowing that I am a good striker, dropping to the lower league would jeopardise my career even at the national team.”
He was still to meet with club management on the possibility of a move. “I still need to hear what the management’s decision will be, but hopefully, before the season starts, there will be some new developments regarding my future,” he added.
“South Africa is a good country with unbelievable facilities and staying in their topflight league will be wonderful for me. I was on top form this season, but the club’s relegation put a damper on that change of fortune for me.”
