Amidu on the move?

The future of Zimbabwean Brian Abbas Amidu is uncertain, following the recent relegation of Black Leopards. The striker said he was not ready to drop to the first division and would try and get a move elsewhere for the coming season.

“I did everything I could to try and help to save the club from relegation, but we failed as a team and naturally, some changes will happen to the team,” said Amidu. “The club said they would release two foreigners and my future with them remains uncertain, as I am also not interested in going down to the National First Division. I am still young and knowing that I am a good striker, dropping to the lower league would jeopardise my career even at the national team.”

He was still to meet with club management on the possibility of a move. “I still need to hear what the management’s decision will be, but hopefully, before the season starts, there will be some new developments regarding my future,” he added.

“South Africa is a good country with unbelievable facilities and staying in their topflight league will be wonderful for me. I was on top form this season, but the club’s relegation put a damper on that change of fortune for me.”
