Too handsome for Saudi Arabia

This is the face of one of the men who were kicked out of Saudi Arabia for being too handsome.

Omar Borkan Al Gala, an actor and photographer from Dubai, was given his marching orders along with a number of other men at a cultural festival earlier this month.

A video of him in a variety of model-style poses is currently going viral on YouTube with more than 150,000 hits so far.

Officials reportedly feared the United Arab Emirates delegates might corrupt impressionable women at the annual Janadriyah Festival.

“A festival official said the three Emiratis were taken out on the grounds they are too handsome and that the Commission members feared female visitors could fall for them,” Arabic newspaper Elaph reported.

The world’s most level headed dog?

An Australian cattle dog called Jack can balance an amazing range of household items on his head.

The three-year-old quite happily poses for pictures balancing objects including a soup tin, a football, books, fruit, an egg and even a kettle.

Owners Nicole Lee and boyfriend Trey, who adopted Jack as a puppy, say Jack seems to enjoy performing his party trick.

Nicole, 27, of San Francisco, said: “From an early age we noticed he was very smart, so we taught him many tricks, this being one of them.

“The balancing act started when we tried balancing a kernel of popcorn on his nose one night while watching a movie at home.

“We quickly learned he was patient enough to allow us to stack really anything on his head, as long as it’s not too heavy.

“We’ve had to continue to teach him more challenging tricks as we go along, most recently we taught him to shut all the kitchen cabinets and open the refrigerator. He’s a fun guy!”

Nasa accused of Martian graffiti

Nasa scientists have been accused of using a remote controlled exploration rover to draw a penis on the surface of Mars.

A photo of the image was posted on the US space agency’s website – which promptly crashed, reports The Mirror.

A user on Reddit was the first to spot the unfortunate photo of what looks like a man’s privates.

Nasa’s twin exploration vehicles – Spirit and Opportunity – have travelled over more than 10km of Martian land, controlled by teams on Earth and cameras on the robots.

The agency lost communication with the Spirit rover in 2009 after it became stuck in some sand, perhaps ruling out its contribution to the photo.

But Opportunity is still traversing the surface on its way to the Endeavour crater.

The £1.6bn Curiosity rover robot probe later joined the exploration effort, landing on Mars in August 2012.

Woman bumps into escaped tiger in loo

A US woman will never forget taking her family to the circus for the first time – after coming face to face with an escaped tiger in the toilet.

Jenna Krehbiel came face to face with the big cat when she popped to the ladies’ during an outing to the Isis Shrine Circus in Salina, Kansas

“I went in to use the bathroom, and a lady came in to get her daughter out and said there was a tiger loose,” she told the Salina Journal.

“I didn’t know it was in the bathroom, and I walked in the door, which closed right after I had walked in.

“I saw the tiger; it was at most two feet in front of me, and I turned around calmly and walked back toward the door. Someone opened the door and said, ‘Get out’.

“You don’t expect to go in a bathroom door, have it shut behind you and see a tiger walking toward you.

“Looking back, it was a scary ordeal… My daughter wanted to know if it had washed its hands. That was her only concern.”

Chris Bird, manager at the Salina Bicentennial Centre which was staging the circus, said the tiger escaped during the show, and staff quickly barricaded off the concourse.

He said the tiger veered off into an open bathroom and a security guard got people out, and then barricaded the door. Krehbiel had entered the opposite door.

“Once she saw the tiger, I’m sure she knew to go the other way. Overall, it was a scary, surreal moment. I am glad no one was hurt or injured,” he said.
