FC Platinum drags DeMbare back to stalemate

Zvishavane outfit, FC Platinum snatched a point at Rufaro stadium after holding the defending Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Champions, Dynamos, to a 2-all draw.

The visiting side were down 0-1 in the 27th minute when Washington Pakamisa scored DeMbare's first. A first half lead with some promising attack gave the home side an upper hand before their opponents came back from the changing room a better side.

The 2011 Soccer star of the year and former Motor Action striker, Charles Sibanda, resurrected all hopes of an away victory for F.C Platinum when he hit the back of the nets in the 68th minute. It was Winston Mhango's brilliant score two minutes later that sent the Platinum fans into delirium giving them the confidence that this might be their year.

It was not about the lead but how he scored the leading goal. He swaved to the left with the ball leaving Dynamos defender, Bello, lying on the ground. Mhango then made scoring seem so easy by packing the ball in the nets with Dynamos goalkeeper's efforts to stretch for it on his far right not enough to save his side.

Pakamisa again brought Dynamos back into the game by scoring the team's equalizer 27 minutes into the second half.

The visiting side played with so much determination Dynamos was lucky to walk away with a point. Head coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, thought it was in the first half they lost the plot.

"We started well in the first 20 minutes but we let them come back and again in the second half. It is sad on our side having this draw, the sixth on our side," said Pasuwa.

FC Platinum mentor Tennant Chilumba was happy with the point and applauded his charges for the outing.

"I have to give credit to the boys, they played the Champions at their home ground and managed to contain them," he said.
