Pengaudzoke in serious road accident

Eight members of the Marondera based Pengaudzoke band have been involved in serious accident.

The accident occurred near Dema Growth Point in Seke in the early hours of Monday. A member of the band, Cosmas Somanje confirmed the accident.

He said the accident happened after the band, led by Josephat Somanje collided head on with a truck which was carrying tobacco.

"Josephat and the other band members were travelling towards Marondera after having performed a show in Mbare when the accident happened. As for Josephat, he is complaining of chest pains while Afiq Jones, who plays drums, has broken his legs. He is the one who has been seriously injured.

"Other band members who have been injured include Patrick Masusu, Kelvin Sindi and Christopher Jack," said Somanje.

He said the injured band members were taken to Chitungwiza General Hospital for treatment.

Harare Province Spokesperson Inspector Tedious Chibanda could neither deny nor confirm the accident saying he was yet to receive a report on the accident.
