This was announced by Matthias Naab, the country director for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), during an audience with Lucas Chomera, the deputy chairperson of the Mozambican parliament, the Assembly of the Republic.
The meeting was held to discuss the preparations for Ban Ki-moon’s visit.
This will be the first time that Ban Ki-moon has visited the country since he took over the post in 2007 from Kofi Annan.
Ban Ki-moon met with Mozambican President Armando Guebuza in February in Addis Ababa ahead of the ceremony to sign a peace agreement for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). President Guebuza signed the agreement in his capacity as the current chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
