The party’s president, Gondayi Vutuza said preparations for the conference were at an advanced stage. “We have been in this struggle for quite a long time and we are willing to join hands with any other party against Zanu (PF),” he said.
The preferred coalition partner would have to be unanimously agreed upon by the national executive and sentiments had caused unnecessary discord, he said.
“Some party members have been making pronouncements in their individual capacities but I must say that we have to agree as a party, not as individuals,” said Vutuza
“We have started by restructuring in Chipinge District and there is already a District Committee there. Secondly, we already have people who are prepared to stand as Members of Parliament in Chiredzi, Chimanimani and Bikita and we are still finalising our exercise in other areas,” he added.
