The campaign, which has seen youths from Hwange and Nhema area unite in various peace-building initiatives, aims to promote a culture of peace regardless of political affiliation.
YIEBC Programmes Officer, David Chidende, said the initiative hoped to unite youths across the political divide.
“We work with mainly small scale gold miners. There is a perception within society that this group of youths is rowdy and enjoys being violent. We have managed to train more than 50 community peace campaigners among youths in the province who are currently assisting with preaching the gospel of peace within the communities,” he said.
He told The Zimbabwean that the organisation had, since March 2013, held several workshops in Shurugwi, Hange, Tongogara and Nhema with youths from Zanu (PF) and MDC- T.
