Kingston Hukura Nyamayaro, who was employed as a security guard by Fortified Security, died in Beatrice where he had been transferred from Murehwa Centre following a directive from a top Central Intelligence Officer Agatha Mudzinganyama.
His allegiance to the MDC-T did not go down well with CIO officers in Murehwa who reportedly threatened the directors of Fortified Security to have Nyamayaro dismissed or transferred, or lose the contract to guard government offices.
Initially Nyamayaro, who had been employed for five years as a Sergeant was dismissed by the company, but later on he was reinstated and transferred to Beatrice. MDC-T Spokesperson for Mashonaland East, Graham Nyahada, said mystery surrounded his death and foul play could not be ruled out.
Nyamayaro’s body was taken from Beatrice to Murehwa on May 28 and buried the next morning. Nyahada said some CIO officers from Murehwa disrupted the funeral ceremony, and blocked attempts by Nyamayaro’s relatives and MDC-T members to have a post mortem done.
“All along, Nyamayaro has been involved in serious wrangles with the CIO in Murehwa and this is what led to him being transferred to Beatrice. On Monday evening he started vomiting blood and we are suspicious that this is a case of food poisoning,” said Nyahada.
When contacted for comment over Nyamayaro’s alleged wrangles with the CIO in Murehwa, Mudzinganyama, who has become notorious for terrorising MDC-T supporters in the area said: “Even if you write that in The Zimbabwean, nothing is going to change.
Actually, you will be marketing me and I will be promoted. Don’t bother me with these issues of security guards because I work for the CIO and I do not employ security guards.”
