Following years of economic instability, the crocodile farm suspended all meat exports. In a telephone interview with The Zimbabwean, the farm’s managing director, John English, said the farm had exported two large consignments since re-opening. “We have resumed crocodile meat exports to Namibia and Belgium,” he said.
The farm has refurbished its abattoirs and cold rooms. The expansion project is expected to improve export earnings from $550 000 to $2, 5 million a year.
