Inkanyezi Zezulu made history when they landed a rare recording deal with a South African company and came second in the South African Traditional Music Awards two years ago.
Dube, 32,still a member of the traditional accappela music group but working under the name Zinjaziyamluma, penned his own piece of history when he became the first Zimbabwean to team up with the neighbouring country’s celebrated Maskandi-gospel queen, Bonakele, in his explosive debut maskandi beat album.
He said the DVD was a follow-up to the success of the sizzling album, notable for its high quality sound and content.
“The album has been very successful with both Zimbabweans and South African fans asking for a DVD. So this shoot is a response to the public pleas that keep coming,” said the Tsholotsho-born Dube. “I have shot all 10 songs in the album and promise that I will also feature Bonakele in all the tracks that she sang.”
