Group laments demise of cultural activities

Renowned cultural group Amakhosi Amahle Arts has released an album lamenting the demise of cultural activities. The album, ‘Siyaya’ (We are going), follows continued outcries from various civil society organizations reprimanding chiefs for meddling in political activities.

“Our country is fast losing its cultural values and we are trying to urge people to re-visit consider our old ways of living. Our music reflects every day life and these 12 tracks we compiled will surely change the country for better and improve the living standards,” said the group’s eirector Mkhululi Hadebe. “We need a united country especially as we are moving briskly towards elections. If cultural values are respected we won’t experience any political troubles.,” he added.

The album features tracks like Siyaya, Dabukalwandle, Bathi angithule, Umasingabantu and Simenyiwe among others. Established in 2008, Amakhosi Amahle is prominently known for their cultural performances in the SADC region. The group also does poetry, stage plays and cultural dance.
