
He is also looking forward to winning more medals with the club in the coming seasons. The man known as “Jambo Jet” in South African football circles, was forced to watch the better part of the season from the side-lines, after he sustained a knee injury in October during a Telkom Knockout match against Bidvest Wits.
He, recently joined his teammates during the celebrations for the double. “I would have loved to contribute to the success of the team. I was happy to have started the season on a high and was looking forward to improve on my performances,” said Jambo recently.
“It was sad that the injury came. It is part of football and I have put that behind me. Now I am focusing on the future. It was heart-warming to be part of the celebrations after winning both the league and the Nedbank Cup. I remember jumping up and down with the likes of Kingston Nkhatha and it is the kind of feeling that you can’t put into words.”
He felt himself lucky to have lifted the two trophies with Chiefs this season, having also lifted the Telkom Knockout Trophy twice since he joined the Amakhosi. “There are players that play for two decades and never win the league title. I really feel special to have been part of the group that won it this season,” added the player.

He has also developed a knack for scoring goals – his club is currently one of their top goal scorers with 10 goals. He was Swallows’ third top goal scorer last season with six goals, which all came from set-pieces.
